GETTING GOD’S ATTENTION

“The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to
see if there are any who understand, who seek God.”    Psalm 14:2 (NKJV)

When surrounded by evil, it’s hard to believe that you can truly make a difference.  Yet, Scriptures says you and I can make that difference.  God sees us because we understand and are seeking Him.  God saw and used Noah and will use us also.

God looked down from heaven and saw that “the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” Genesis 6:5 (NKJV).  God was sorry that He made man and was grieved in His heart.  God said: “I will destroy man whom I have created from… the earth…” Genesis 6:7 (NKJV).

Because of God’s search, He found a righteous man--Noah.  Noah got God’s attention.  In a day when the values obtained from the Word of God are being denied and in many cases opposed, a righteous servant is still needed. Noah gives us an example.  The Scriptures state that:

  • Noah was a just man
  • Noah was perfect in his generation
  • Noah walked with God
  • Noah had a family that obeyed him.

God informs Noah that because the earth was filled with violence, He was going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy it.  He proceeds to provide Noah with instructions:

  • Make yourself an ark
  • Make rooms in the ark
  • Cover the ark inside and outside with pitch
  • Make a window in the ark
  • Set a door in the ark in its side
  • God provided many details for Noah

God provided Noah with a promise:  “I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark---you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you”  Genesis 6:18 (NKJV).  Noah did according to all that God commanded.  His family repopulated the earth.

Do not underestimate your walk with the Lord in these troubling times. Hold fast to the promises God has for you:  “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” James 4:8b (NKJV).  “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” John 15:7 (NJKV).

God’s eyes are on you.  Keep your special time with the Lord so you can receive His instructions.  Because your life is hid in Christ Jesus, you have God’s attention.  Let us respond to God’s promises and impact our world of influence.
